Baptisms
Baptism is a choice, which will have life-long implications. This is true if you are an adult seeking to be baptized or if you are a seeking baptism for your child. The day of your baptism or your child’s baptism is the beginning of a long relationship with the Church. We take our responsibilities to you seriously also.
When do Baptisms Happen?
Baptism generally takes place during one of the two Sunday Morning celebrations of the Eucharist. As it is a sacrament that celebrates initiation into the Body of Christ, it is most appropriately celebrated in the context of the faithful assembled together as community. Baptisms are scheduled on major feast days.
Please contact the church office to make an appointmnet to discuss baptism.
Weddings
Marriage is a gift of God and a means of God's grace. In marriage, husband and wife give themselves to each other, and they begin a new life together in the community. An act of Christian marriage assumes a commitment to the way of Jesus Christ in our lives together.
Please contact the church office to arrange an appointment with the priest to discuss your wedding.
Funerals
Christian funerals reflect a variety of responses to the experience of death. On one hand, those who gather acknowledge grief, anxiety, and a number of other emotions arising out of their sense of loss; the reality of death must not be denied. Yet the funeral is not simply an expression of anguish and despair. There is room for thanksgiving even in the midst of mourning. Through our worship of God, we have opportunity to know joy and hope.
In the Funeral Liturgy Christians proclaim that not even death can separate us from God's love. It is because of Jesus Christ, crucified and risen that we have reason to celebrate today, even as we must face the death of a loved one. Confident in God's goodness, we gather to give thanks for God's grace in Jesus Christ, and for the many ways God's love has been revealed through God’s children. For information on funerals please contact our office.
